Class Configurations for 2025-2026
As you know, we have asked all families to inform the office if they are intending to stay at Killarney next year, or planning on a change. We do this so we can work at this time of year to determine classroom configurations for the upcoming school year. Based on the information we have received from you, and our overall numbers in grades 3-6 we will be having a slight shift in classroom configurations this coming year.
2024 – 2025 | 2025 – 2026 |
|---|---|
K – 3 classes (~21 students) | K - 3 classes (~22 students) |
1/2 - 5 classes (~24.5 students) | 1/2 - 5 classes (~25 students) |
3/4 - 4 classes (~21 students) | 3/4 - 5 classes (~21 students) |
5/6 - 4 classes (~20 students) | 5/6 - 3 classes (~23 students) |
Without this shift in 3/4 and 5/6 we would have class averages of 26 in 3/4 and 17 in 5/6. This shift allows us to balance our classrooms with fewer students per room. With this shift, we will be making changes to classroom lists. Please know we do our very best to have minimal disruptions for students and to ensure students have positive social connections in their classrooms. If you have any thoughts on the environment or social connection

Our last Killarney School Council meeting will be on teams Tuesday June 10th at 6:30pm Please keep an eye out for a link to the meeting and join us as we discuss winding down the school year and our plans for next year!
