MAPSS is looking for casino volunteers! Nov 14 & 15
At MAPSS, Montessori Alternative Public School Society, we are about to host our most important fundraiser, the MAPSS Casino Night at Elbow River Casino. This fundraiser is integral to our organization, with funding going directly to MAPSS and the three Montessori public schools.
Grades 1-3 Swimming Fees
We still have a lot of unpaid swimming fees for students in grade 1-3 who took part in the fall swimming program. If you have not done so we kindly ask that you pay these fees asap.
Remembrance Day Ceremony on Thursday, November 7th
Killarney will be having a Remembrance Day Ceremony at 10:30am on Thursday, November 7th. All military personnel and first responder family members of Killarney students are invited to be our special guests. Please email Mrs. Cathy Charlton-Brennan cacharltonbrennan@cbe.ab.ca to be included in our program. Students in Guides, Scouts, and other service organizations are invited to wear their uniforms and be in the flag party for the ceremony.
Mrs. Charlton Brennan won't be able to attend Calgary's Field of Crosses Sunset Ceremony for Youth at 6pm on Saturday, November 2nd. Hopefully, next year!
Save The Date – Winter Concert
We will be holding a Winter Celebration Concert on December 5th. Due to the small size of our gym we will be holding three small shows that evening. Please see the tentative schedule below. More information to follow.
Grade 1/2 5:30 – 6:00 pm (doors open at 5:15)
Grade 3/4 6:15 – 6:45 pm (doors open at 6:00)
Grade 5/6 7:00 – 7:30 pm (doors open at 6:45)
Kindergarten students will not be taking part in this event. They will have their own celebration in the spring.
Killarney School Council Meeting
The next KSC meeting will be held on November 19th, 2024. Mark your calendars to take part!

The Killarney Annual Fundraiser
The Killarney Annual Fundraiser is running October 22, 2024 - November 24, 2024
This year's fundraiser will be geared towards raising funds for a new playground. For more information on this fundraiser and learn more about this big project, please refer to posters around the school and go to our website https://killarneyschoolcouncil.ca/playground-project

Fun Lunch
Fun Lunches are back! If you haven't signed up already, please visit https://healthyhunger.ca/ and click on “Register your account” This will allow you to link your child’s name to the Killarney School and then to their respective classrooms for the remainder of the school year. Our next lunch will be on November 27, 2024 from Inglewood Pizza. If you have already registered, keep your eyes out for a reminder email to order.
